Bienvenido a Miami, “the Capital of Latin America”, meet your bilingual ACIS Tour Manager, check in to your hotel, and transfer to the nearby Freedom Tower in downtown Miami to explore the Exile Experience exhibit, a collection of historical photos and stories that illustrate the struggles of the Cuban exile community. Next, head to South Beach for a short walk along the colorful boardwalk, followed by a visit to Española Way. It’s easy to forget you are in the USA on this charming pedestrian street which was looks and feels like a main street in an historic Spanish village. Tonight, enjoy a paella dinner and flamenco show.
Today begins in Little Havana where your Tour Manager will lead you on a walking tour of Calle Ocho. Visit the Cubaocho Museum and Performing Arts Center to discover one of the largest privately-owned Cuban Art collections in the world. In the afternoon visit la Capilla de la Merced, an ornately decorated Andean Chapel, containing the largest collection of original colonial art in the United States. Next, visit the Gary Nader Art Centre, the premier gallery of Latin American Art in the United States, where you will be introduced to an extensive collection of Fernando Botero paintings and sculptures. Spend your final evening immersed in Colombian culture while you enjoy an authentic dinner while listening to Colombian music.
Start the day with a sightseeing cruise on Biscayne Bay, during which you’ll learn and practice some Spanish and get to see the homes of Julio Iglesias, Gloria Estefan and many other Miami luminaries. After your cruise, there will be some time for souvenir shopping and spending a bit more time on the shores of Biscayne Bay before your Spanish adventure in Miami comes to an end.
