A Walk Through Spain

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Monday March 7: Overnight Flight

Depart from the USA.

Day 2, Tuesday March 8: Barcelona

Arrive in Barcelona and meet your ACIS Tour Manager. Founded by the Romans in the 3rd century BC, it’s known for its artistic treasures and fine architecture from Gothic to modernist. Begin to explore the city, including the neighborhoods around Ciutadella Park and the Olympic Port. (D)

Day 3, Wednesday March 9: Barcelona

Begin your day with a panoramic sightseeing tour. Our local expert will point out all the major highlights of Barcelona, including the unique Gaudí-designed houses. Antoni Gaudí, one of Catalonia's most famous sons, was a Modernist architect whose distinctive style is revered to this day. After, you'll be able to study the intricate design inside and out of his still-unfinished Sagrada Familia and stroll whimsical Parc Güell. We have the afternoon to wander through La Boqueria, but come back hungry; tonight's feast is a traditional Spanish paella dinner—a spicy tango of rice, seafood and vegetables considered by many as Spain's national dish. Day 4, Thursday March 10: Bilbao

Journey to Bilbao to visit the renowned Guggenheim Museum with personal audio guides. Along with the exhibitions inside, the building of the museum itself has been hailed as one of the most important structures of its time. Afterwards your tour manager will take you on a walking tour of scenic Bilboa, including the riverside, Parque Etxebarria and Casco Viejo, the beautiful medieval quarter. (B,D)

Day 5, Friday March 11: Leon

This morning depart for Leon with a stop in Burgos en route. A walking tour of Burgos with your tour manager takes you to one of the finest Gothic cathedrals in Europe. (B,D)

Day 6, Saturday March 12: Leon

This morning enjoy a guided tour of Leon before you begin your Camino walk tomorrow. (B,D)

Day 7, Sunday March 13: Palas del Rey

Transfer to Palas de Rei to begin your walks on the Camino. Please note: ACIS will provide a van during your walks to provide you with food and drinks to make your journey more comfortable. (B,D)

Day 8, Monday March 14: Pedrouzo

Todays walk is from Palas de Rei to Pedrouzo. (B,D)

Day 9, Tuesday March 15: Santiago De Compostela

Todays walk is from Pedrouzo to Santiago. (B,D)

Day 10, Wednesday March 16: Santiago De Compostela

This morning enjoy a guided tour in Santiago. Your afternoon is free for exploration. (B,D)

Day 11, Thursday March 17: Departure

Depart for the USA. (B)
