The Londoner

July 18 - 24, 2023

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Tuesday July 18: Overnight Flight

Depart from the USA.

Day 2, Wednesday July 19: London

Welcome to London! Meet your ACIS Tour Manager, relax, unpack and begin to explore the city's unique neighborhoods. Perhaps check out the street markets along Portobello Road in Notting Hill; explore the paths of Hyde Park or the mansions of nearby Belgravia; visit museums in South Kensington; or stroll along the artsy South Bank. (D)

Day 3, Thursday July 20: London

This morning, learn about London's majestic past and fast-paced present on your guided sightseeing tour. Take in sites like Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament—along the way, our guide will point out more modern landmarks like the Gherkin, the Shard, and the Cheese Grater—all new buildings changing the London skyline. Another highlight of the day is a tour inside St. Paul’s Cathedral. Sir Christopher Wren's architectural masterpiece is an enduring symbol of London, the seat of the Church of England and famed for its dome and Whispering Gallery. If you have time, your ticket includes access to climb to the top of the dome. After lunch head to Windsor Castle - Under Own Arrangements. Tonight enjoy a theater performance in London's famous West End. (B,D)

Day 4, Friday July 21: London

Head outside of London today for a half-day excursion to the Harry Potter Studio Tour (note : this has been booked by GL @ 09:30, booking reference 5383641). Return to London for a free afternoon. Tonight you'll get a chance to choose your cuisine and dine like the locals with restaurant vouchers and our insider tips on the neighborhood's best places to go. Then this evening's activity will have you soaring with your timed reservation to the London Eye. On your 30 minute “flight” to a height of 443 feet, you'll be amazed at how the London landscape unfolds below you and the engineering marvel of the Eye itself. (B,D)

Day 5, Saturday July 22: London

One highlight of the Tower of London is witnessing the opening ceremony, and we get there early before the crowds arrive to catch it with our famously boisterous Beefeater guide. Since its construction, the castle has been used as a treasury, palace and prison—today it houses 1,000 years of Royal history and the Crown Jewels. After, we head to the Globe Theatre for a guided tour of this historic recreation of the original theater. It’s been a busy morning so far, so we head to London's Bankside neighborhood for a fish and chips lunch. This afternoon enjoy free time to explore. (B,L)

Day 6, Sunday July 23: London

Today embark on a full-day excursion to Stonehenge and Bath. The trip includes the mysterious, prehistoric monuments of Stonehenge and a sightseeing tour of Bath highlights: the Royal Crescent, Circus, Pulteney Bridge and entrance to the Roman Baths. Tonight celebrate the end of a wonderful journey with a final evening in London. (B,D)

Day 7, Monday July 24: Departure
