Gain an intimate perspective on the Vietnam War as you learn about the construction of this military network, tales of its use and the attacks against it before climbing down to explore part of the passages firsthand.
The lifeblood of the thriving agricultural community that lines its sides, the Damnoen Saduak canal serves as transportation, irrigation, market stalls and more. Vietnamese calligraphy, once just the venue of the liberated elite, has been growing in popularity and is still used as part of the traditional celebration of special occasions such as the Lunar New Year. Visit the home of one of Vietnam's best-known expert calligraphists, Mr. Le Lan, for a lesson in the history, brush strokes and meanings of the art.
