České Budějovice is the largest city in South Bohemia and sits in the valley of the Vltava River. It is well-known for its long history of brewing beer dating back to the 13th century and was even the imperial brewery for the Holy Roman Emperor! If you’re having trouble pronouncing Budejovice, just call the city Budweis for short.
