How ACIS Serves Catholic School Travel Programs

January 25, 2024 Sarah Bichsel No Comments

ACIS works with school groups of all kinds, from public to charter to local interest, and are proud to offer amenities and services that make us the ideal partner for US Catholic schools.

Here are just a few of the ways ACIS Tours stands out as a provider for Catholic school travel programs!

The ACIS Classics

At base level, every ACIS tour includes several high quality features that will appeal to schools of all kinds.

  • Centrally Located Hotels – On all ACIS tours, groups stay in centralized locations close to the heart of the action. Other companies save money by putting groups outside the city limits, but the cost comes back to the groups with extra hours of commute time.
  • 24/7 Network Support – If and when things go wrong in travel, from the little (missing bag) to the larger (missing flights), ACIS has a 24/7 service network dedicated to making things right.
  • Local, Authentic MealsWhen in Rome! Eating as the locals do is important to our mission. We also will take care of any dietary restrictions that students or schools may have, for example, offering a fish dish on Friday for Catholic travelers.
  • Top Tier Tour Managers ACIS Tour Managers are the best of the best! You’ll be hard pressed to find more thoughtful, kind, intelligent, and organized tour guides in the world.

“My travel to Spain was an amazing experience. We loved our tour guide and the itinerary was fantastic. The students and I still rave about the experience and are so grateful for all ACIS did to make it such a memorable experience.”

Customization

No ACIS tour is exactly alike, and that is because we work with group leaders to get them as close to their ideal trip as possible. Your dedicated Program Consultant will take time to hear about your classroom needs, and for Catholic school travel programs, that includes both the educational and the spiritual.

Here are some of the ways we adjust itineraries to meet Catholic school needs:

  • Customize the itinerary to include more cathedral visits
  • Arrange additional Mass services on Sundays or throughout the itinerary as requested
  • Plan for special holiday observances such as Good Friday and Easter
  • Provide dining options that meet practice needs, such as fish on Fridays

We also offer tailored itineraries for smaller groups, offering private tours for groups of 13 or fewer, which may fit the needs of smaller Catholic schools.

Looking for a starting point? Catholic Highlights in Italy and Catholic Highlights in Spain are two pre-designed itineraries that you can customize to fit your objectives.

Special Opportunities Abroad

Our network of travel suppliers is top notch and can make some pretty magical experiences happen overseas. Some of the past specials have included:

  • Private Masses at St. Peter’s Basilica
  • Meetings with members of the local clergy
  • Special visits to chapels unseen by standard tours

Some groups have even been lucky enough to see the Pope in Vatican city – No guarantees but an amazing experience nonetheless!

Partnership Benefits

Travel Changes Lives – We’ve seen time and time again the positive benefits for students that come after they travel, from language skills to job placements to increased empathy toward other cultures. With parents and students increasingly looking to make the most of their education and school funding dollars, building a travel program at your school can mean making your organization stand out for future enrollment.

Over the past 46 years, ACIS has created these partnerships and travel programs at Catholic schools nationwide, and we would love to build a long-standing relationship with you!
