It is probably better to have lunch in Granada or Toledo rather than at a rest stop. There are several good places on Plaza Bib Rambla (behind the Cathedral) which also serves as a good meeting point for after lunch. Another good spot is the pedestrianised street Calle Navas near the town hall.
· Call or text the local guide to reconfirm meeting time and place at least 24 hrs in advance.
· You can view the Windmills of Consuegra about 20-minute drive from Puerto Lápice, if going Granada – Toledo. Check that this will fit the timing of your day. If you make the stop, then take a shorter stop at Puerto Lápice, or miss it all together. Great photo stop but bear in mind that going up to the actual windmills is now ticket only and you have to book in advance – you can get a fairly decent view from the bottom
