Half-day excursion, including boat ride.
- You need cash/card for the boat ride
- Departure for Broek in Waterland via the Ij tunnel. Take the
N247 and follow directions to Volendam.
09.30 Arrival in Broek in Waterland. Set down on the bus park outside
the village. Your sightseeing is done on foot. Walk the group
in the direction of the church, let them explore on their own
and meet again to walk back to the bus.
10.00 Departure from Broek. Continue on the N247 to Volendam.
10.30 Arrival in Volendam. Ask the driver to drop you at the harbour.
They should then drive, via Monnickendam to Marken, where
they wait for you to arrive with the group off the boat. Time
permitting, you can give the group free time to explore the
village and meet them again to take the boat to Marken. Boats
leave every half hour.
11.00 Departure by boat for Marken.
11.30 Arrival at Marken. Walk the group slowly through the village to
the bus park (well indicated), where you will find your bus.
12.15 Departure from Marken. Take the dike road and continue
along the lakeside road via Uitdam and Durgerdam back to
Amsterdam. A faster route takes you back via Zuiderwoude and
Zunderdorp.
13.00 Arrival in Amsterdam
NB: Check with your GL and (likely touring) driver if you want to change this to the afternoon or to extend it slightly. There are several café/restaurant options as well as souvenirs in Volendam, for example.
