Half-day excursion to Ostia Antica for a guided tour of the excavations
IMPORTANT!
Entrances are provided through Effetto and you will have the original tickets (one with free entrances for the number of U18 pax in your group; one with all the full fare tickets for the adults, including TM);
* Under 18 – passport copies are accepted, and they will have to be exhibited individually at the entrance;
* The local guide will have to use the microphone provided in the VOX case;
· Check the meeting point and time with the local guide on your voucher and plan your timing accordingly.
· Tell the group to wear comfortable shoes.
· Driving time Rome – Ostia Antica appx 1 hour depending on traffic and your starting point in town.
· The excavations are closed on Monday
· There is a self-service cafeteria and bar together with toilets inside the site.
Leave Rome following signs to Leonardo da Vinci airport, then to Ostia – a small town on the seaside next to Fiumicino. In Ostia, follow signs to Ostia Antica Scavi. Set down in the bus park at the entrance (toilets). The visit lasts around two hours. Guide deals with ticketing.
In summer you could combine this excursion with a beach outing. Best free beaches are the ones of Castel Porziano, south of Ostia.
Return to Rome after the visit.
