§ This is a long day covering a large part of Sicily. Dinner should be set at 21.00.

07.30 Depart Taormina taking the Autostrada direction Catania.

Just before Catania follow the signs for the A19 Autostrada Catania-Palermo. Exit at Mulinello, follow the signs for Piazza Armerina.

The excavations of the Roman villa of Casale are 4km Southwest of Piazza Armerina.

10.00 Meet your local guide at the ticket booth. Guide pays entrances.

The tour of the Villa takes about 1 hour showing some 40 mosaics covering 3500 sq m of floor including the famous ‘bikini girls’.

At the entrance there is a bar and toilets.

11.30 You can decide to either have lunch in the village (da Toto) or in the area (al Ritrovo).

12.30 The road between Piazza Armerina and Agrigento is winding and slow. It will take approx. 2 hrs to reach the site.

15.00 Drive to the top of the hill where the visit starts with the Temple of Juno. Buy the tickets at the ticket booth and walk your group inside. Toilets inside the site. The visit takes you over the Passeggiata Archeologica to various Temples. Give your group about 2 hours to visit. A small coffee bar, also selling souvenirs can be found at the bottom of the hill, after the exit.

17.00 Drive back to Taormina via Caltanisetta and Enna, on the Autostrada Palermo-Catania. This drive takes approx 4 hrs including a rest stop en route.
