Durham

A small city but one with significant architectural importance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Durham Cathedral and Castle are among the greatest monuments of the Norman Conquest of Britain, and Durham Cathedral, built between 1093 and 1133, is one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Europe.

As you approach via the A690, you will go straight ahead over two roundabouts. As you pass under a bridge you will exit immediately left onto Walkergate and drop down to the river. As you now pass under the A690 there are coach drop off bays and then the driver would continue along Freeman’s Place to the coach park.

Upon returning for departure it would be easier to walk the couple of hundred extra metres to the coach park. Durham Tourist Office: www.thisisdurham.com
