· Highly recommended is a visit to the American Cemetery on the A1303 Madingley Road. Add 1 hour.

· In Cambridge numerous places to eat around Market Square & King’s Parade.

· Those not up for punting themselves could get a chauffeur punt also from Silver Street – see Listing pages for number.

· Adjust times according to plans for arrival in York.

· Stamford makes a picturesque rest stop if you want something a little special. Visit www.stamford.co.uk

Cambridge

Coach drops off and picks up on Queen’s Road. You turn left into Silver Street and where the road crosses the Cam there are Public Toilets and info about hiring punts. Begin your walk, which should include Kings Parade, Trinity Street, St John’s Street, Sydney Street and Market Street, which leads into Market Place (approx 1hr). Disperse group ensuring they know meeting time and place. Some of the group might want to visit a college (this they do on their own) suggest King’s College, 01223 331 100 (entrance fee). Check for any restrictions on Chapel opening. www.kings.cam.ac.uk/visit/chapel-closures.html. Suggest hiring a punt to see the Backs; this can be done on Silver Street Bridge or Bridge Street (Scudamores 01223 359750). To climb to the top of St Mary’s Church affords a wonderful impression if the spire is open.
