  • Richard's Vision for this Tour: This tour is truly having your cake and eating it, too. I’ve enhanced our classic Insider’s Dominican Republic itinerary with those unique extras that I do with the “cool” groups that graciously allow me to make all their free time decisions. While offering a wide and exciting variety of the Dominican’s historic, cultural and biological charms—from dreamy beaches to community connections to unexpected subterranean caverns—our travelers will dive deep into the contemporary Dominican lifestyle at its best. This program is what our tour managers seek to do with their own families who come to visit from off-island. Read More

Learn More About Richard

A native of Rochester, NY, my love affair with the Dominican Republic began while studying Afro-Caribbean studies in Santiago de los Caballeros on a leave of absence from Ithaca College. Less than six months after graduating, I returned to the DR as a mountain bike guide, developing an intimate knowledge of its vibrant people and dramatic geography. I subsequently reinforced this knowledge as the Administrative Director of a college study abroad organization’s Santiago Study Center. Known by my friends as "Poco Pelo," I love how my work leverages my knowledge of my adopted country and logistical management capabilities. I am also a certified Wilderness EMT.
