Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Saturday November 16: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Sunday November 17: Marrakech
Arrive to Morocco with Fast Track included at the airport. Meet your ACIS Tour Manager and guide and transfer to your hotel. Later enjoy a a walking tour of the Medina. After dinner visit Jemaa el-Fnaa, Marrakesh's main square. (D)
Day 3, Monday November 18: Marrakech
Cultural Tour of Marrakech: Today promises an intriguing exploration of the authentic side of this medieval city, providing a glimpse into the traditional activities of the locals and offering insight into their way of life. Our journey encompasses the remnants of the glorious past of this historic capital of Morocco. Visit Badi Palace explore Dar El Bacha, and visit the Koutoubia Mosque. Afterward, visit Amina Garden. Day 4, Tuesday November 19: Marrakech
Cultural Exchange and Desert Excursion. Embark on an enriching excursion to the scenic Berber village of Lalla Takerkoust, where cultural discovery meets natural beauty. Begin your journey with a picturesque drive through the breathtaking landscapes of the Atlas Mountains, soaking in panoramic views of rugged terrain and lush valleys along the way. After a cultural exchange with a family for lunch continue to our rocky desert camp where a variety of workshops await, followed by a delightful dinner under the stars. (B)
Day 5, Wednesday November 20: Marrakech
Day in Essaouira. Essaouira, a captivating fortified town, boasts a 16th-century Portuguese fort and a well preserved mid-eighteenth-century Medina. Our journey starts with a scenic drive from Marrakech to the Atlantic coast, passing through the Argan tree forest. En route, we visit a cooperative, crafting renowned Moroccan Argan oil. Upon entering Essaouira, we explore its traditional streets, food markets, and artisan workshops. The Museum of Essaouira showcases artifacts, including finds from Mogador islands and Berber jewelry. We ascend the Portuguese fortress, once a prominent 16th-century explorers' port. Guided by our knowledgeable guide, we delve into local art galleries and cabinet-making shops, immersing ourselves in the town's rich artistic heritage. A leisurely stroll along the beach or town shopping concludes our day of cultural exploration and coastal charm before our return to Marrakech. (B)
