Continue with a guided visit of the British Museum, home to an astounding 150 million items. You'll discover objects from around the world including the Rosetta Stone and sculptural friezes from the Parthenon. Day 4, Monday March 13: Chester

Get your imagination fired up for today's visit to Oxford, including a tour of Christ Church College where Lewis Carroll penned Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and also where many memorable scenes from the Harry Potter movies were filmed (note the Great Hall, the inspiration for Hogwarts Hall). We leave Chester for the town of York, and begin to explore with a sightseeing tour of the town that includes entrance to York Minster. Day 6, Wednesday March 15: Edinburgh

On our way to Edinburgh, we stop in lovely Durham for a walking tour that includes entrance to the Durham Cathedral. Then imagine yourself as a Roman soldier in Britain as you travel to Chester’s Roman Fort at Hadrian's Wall, the Roman Empire’s northernmost defense against marauders in northern Britain. Portions of the once 80-mile-long wall still stand—a testament to Roman engineering. After stopping for a photo beside the border stone marking the England/Scotland border at Carter Bar, we continue to Edinburgh for the evening. (B,D)
