Dominican Tournament

July 17 - 24, 2023

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Monday July 17: Santo Domingo

Depart the USA and arrive in the Dominican Republic where you will meet your tour manager who will be with you for the duration of your trip. Head to your hotel for check-in then enjoy an orientation tour before dinner. (D)

Day 2, Tuesday July 18: Santo Domingo

Today begins the Dominican Games. This is a 2-day, multi-sport event for high school aged athletes Competition begins today with games 1, 2 and 3. Later this afternoon return to Santo Domingo and take a Chu-Chu colonial historical train tour through the Colonial Zone, a UNESCO World Cultural Site and the historic central area of Santo Domingo. See the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor, thought to be the first cathedral of the Americas, the Ozama Fortress overlooking the river, the Franciscan Monastery ruins and other historic sites.Please note: International gateways, dates of games, excursions and overnight cities are subject to change. Day 3, Wednesday July 19: Santo Domingo

Todays tournament games will continue with finals. After games 4, 5 and 6 being played the closing ceremony will take place with all sports will coming together. (B,D)

Day 4, Thursday July 20: Sosua

Travel to north coast of Dominican Republic known for it's beautiful beaches, wind surfing and snorkeling. Check-in to your hotel and enjoy some pool time before dinner. (B,D)

Day 5, Friday July 21: Sosua

After breakfast this morning you will have the opportunity to discover local marine life first-hand as you enjoy snorkeling with tropical fish around the reefs in Sosua Bay. Then after lunch engage in a service project with Cabarete Sostenible Project and get to know the locals. (B,D)

Day 6, Saturday July 22: Sosua

This morning travel to Imbert for some adrenaline pumping 'cascading' down the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua! Then relax before you enjoy dinner back at the hotel. (B,D)

Day 7, Sunday July 23: Sosua

Today get your last adrenaline going with a fantastic ziplining excursion, followed by a well earned beach afternoon at your resort hotel. In the evening say your farewells as you enjoy your dinner together as group. (B,D)

Day 8, Monday July 24: Departure

Depart for the USA. (B)
