Full day’s journey by bus and alpine trains.
· Check the departure time of your train and time your day accordingly. Check if there’s food on the train.
· If there is no food or drink on the train, the group should have a picnic, which they can buy beforehand.
· Timings will also depend on your cog railway reservation (see vouchers) in Wengen.
· You must reconfirm the cog railway reservation with the Jungfraubahn: 033 828 72 33.
· Allow enough time for loading and unloading the luggage onto the train in Wengen. Luggage is transported from/to the station in electric cars or mini buses (check that the hotel provides this service).
· Your driver has to drive around the mountains to pick you up. Tell them to leave as soon as you arrive at your departure point as the train will be faster.
Alternative Route
From Innsbruck to Chur, you can save some time by taking the Autobahn most of the way in Austria (A12/S16/A14), turn off through Feldkirch and Vaduz (Liechtenstein) then back onto the A13 in Switzerland to Chur. This is a total distance of c215km and should take about 3 hours. From Chur to Innsbruck you can make a brief stop in Vaduz if the group wishes and it fits in with your driver’s hours.
