Excursion to Ostia Antica for a guided tour of the excavations and to the beach at Ostia Lido.

IMPORTANT!

Entrances are provided through Effetto and you will have the original tickets (one with free entrances for the number of U18 pax in your group; one with all the full fare tickets for the adults, including TM);

* Under 18 – passport copies are accepted, and they will have to be exhibited individually at the entrance;

* The local guide will have to use the microphone provided in the VOX case;

· Check the meeting point and time with the local guide on your voucher and plan your timing accordingly. Guide pays entrances.

· Tell the group to wear comfortable shoes.

· The excavations are closed on Monday

· Trains run from just off Metro Piramide to Ostia every 15 mins (every 50 mins on Sundays and holidays) trip time around 30 mins.

· The line is included in the Rome city transport system and you use one normal metro ticket per leg of your trip.

· Tell the group to wear comfortable shoes and to bring beach towels.

There is a self-service cafeteria and bar together with toilets inside the site.

Ostia – visit

Take the group, via Metro Line B to Piramide. On arrival leave the metro station and follow signs to Lido into the adjoining station (on your left) of the suburban line Ferrovia Roma-Ostia Lido and take the train towards Ostia Lido. Get off at Ostia Antica, the penultimate stop. The end of the line is Ostia Lido, Rome’s seaside suburb.

Leaving the train station at Ostia Antica, cross the road via the blue sky-bridge and walk straight down Via della Stazione di Ostia Antica, continuing straight until you reach the parking area. The entrance to the site is on your left. Meet the guide and begin the tour of the excavations.

The visit lasts around two hours. Toilets located at the entrance. There is a self-service cafeteria and bar with toilets inside the site.

After the visit return to the station and take the train to Ostia Lido. Indicate the free beaches and explain about the private ones and the paying facilities they offer. Make a rendezvous for departure.

Meet the group again and take the train back to Rome.
