- The border crossing does not routinely require a passport stop, but have them available just in case of any spot check. The driver may require a toll box for the Czech Republic, which requires a 10-minute break.
- There are several Autobahn Rest Stops in Germany, or alternatively Regensburg is a straightforward, very attractive place to stop for lunch. It is located 125km (1 hour 30) from Munich or 265 km (3 hours) from Prague.
- If you do stop in Regensburg, follow the signs to the bus park on Am Protzenweiher (where there are clean, free public toilets). The historic city centre is a 15-minute (signposted) walk away. Lead the group down Stadtamhof in a straight line, across the Stone Bridge, make a meeting point at the Cathedral and walk them back to the coach at a pre-arranged time. Allow 2.5 hours total for such a stop.
- There are several rest stops in the Czech Republic, just inside the Czech Republic (McDonald’s and large service station) may be best.
- If Dachau is on your itinerary, leaving Prague early should allow you to fit Dachau in today, thus freeing the next afternoon for free time in Munich. However, be aware the camp closes at 5pm daily.
