Zaragoza combined visit and lunch stop
· This is a long bus ride. Please depart no later than 08:00 in order to arrive to Barcelona in time for dinner and have sufficient time for a short visit and lunch in Zaragoza.
· You will need to make a rest stop either side of Zaragoza – liaise with you driver to find the best spot.
· Check if you can drop off quickly at the bus stop behind the Pilar on Paseo de Echegaray y Caballero – If not, follow the instructions below
On arrival at Zaragoza, on the other side of the river at the bus park off Calle del Arquitecto la Figuera and arrange a rendezvous time with the driver. Walk the group to Plaza del Pilar and point out/explain the following:
The Pilar Basilica – Famous Marble Column and Goya Ceiling Frescoes
The Seo Cathedral
Remains of the Roman Wall
Monument to Goya (on the Plaza del Pilar)
After the walking tour give free time for lunch and arrange rendezvous and time with group.
Lunch suggestions:
The area known as El Tubo is good for lunch, particularly around Calle de la Libertad and Calle del Cuatro de Agosto. Alternatively, if it is not Sunday, you can suggest buying a picnic lunch at the food market – just next to the Roman Wall.
