HOW TO GET TO THE AIRPORT – ARRIVAL
NB Taxis are not to be taken without specific instructions from the area office.
By train
The “airport express” train service is the fastest and easiest link between the centre of Kraków and John Paul II International Airport, Kraków. Travel time is 18 minutes.
The airport train station is located 200 m from the T1 international terminal. For travel between the terminals and the station, you can either walk the short distance (turn right out of the building then follow the road alongside the multi-storey car park) or you use the free Shuttle Bus. The Shuttle Bus waits at the rail station and transports passengers between the international (T1) and the domestic (T2) terminals.
Single train ticket price: 20 PLN. Tickets can be purchased on the train or at machines in the terminal or at the station.
If your hotel is Andĕls, you are definitely best taking a train from the airport to the main railway station as it is a very short walk. Be sure to walk to the very far end of the arrival platform and exit through the old station building; if you follow any other sign to the “city centre” and use any other exit you will be routed through the large and somewhat confusing Galeria Krakowska shopping mall.
By bus
The airport is also served by three bus lines: 209, 300 and 902 (Night bus), but these are rather slower than the train.
Single ticket: 6.00 PLN
Tickets can be bought from machines in the terminal or at the bus stop.
Collecting a group
If you are collecting a group from the airport, your touring bus will be waiting in the car park. Exit the terminal, turn left, cross the road and you will see the parking lot a short distance away. The journey time into the city is approximately 25 minutes (18 km).
Tax Refunds
VAT refunds can be obtained at the passenger terminal (Check-in zone) in the Currency Exchange office. Passengers will first need to complete all the formalities in the Customs Office at level 0, right next to the Check-in desks.
