Barcelona – Figueras 186 km, 2 hours
Figueras – Cadaqués 30 km, 40 minutes
Cadaqués – Port de la Selva 10 km, 20 minutes
· Museum is closed on Mondays except 1st July – 30th Sept
· Check the time of your reservation in your Araque materials
· The museum opens at 09:30 (except Nov – Feb).
· In order for this day to work leave no later than 8 in the morning.
· Remind group to bring bathing suits and towels if the weather is good.
· The road from Figueras to Cadaqués is particularly windy. It would be wise to let the group know in advance that if anyone suffers from car sickness they can sit nearer the front.
· If visit falls on a Sunday or a Public holiday the roads can be very busy and you might want to adjust the timings – setting off earlier.
08:00 Depart Barcelona. Take N11 Gerona road to Figueras.
10:00 Coach will leave you in the car park which is five minutes from the museum (see map below – however if you are lost, just look upwards to the tops of the buildings and walk towards with one with large eggs sitting on top). Arrange a rendezvous time with the driver. Tell the group to leave big bags behind to avoid checking them in.
Walk the group over to the museum, leave them a moment and go get tickets (if you have booked a group reservation, let the security officer know, so you can go in and get tickets). Accompany your group into the museum to facilitate the group entrance. Take them into the main courtyard (where a car is on display) if it is not very crowded, arrange a rendezvous outside the main entrance to the museum – be sure to tell the group they will exit the museum at a different location not far from the main entrance (marked on map below).
12:00 Depart Figueras on the GI614.
12:40 Arrive in Cadaqués. The coach will drop you off in the car park. Lead your group down to the sea front and give them free time for lunch and, if the weather is good, swimming. From here it is also possible to walk (up and down the hill – non walkers may not like it) to the Casa Museu Salvador Dalí in the harbour of Port Lligat – the walk takes about 20 minutes. FYI – They
will not be able to enter the Museu Salvador Dali in Port Lligat – as all tickets are sold in advance and have timed entry – they only allow 8 people to enter every 15 mins.
14:40 Depart Cadaqués on the GI613.
15:00 Arrive in Port de la Selva. Give group free time to wander around.
15:55 Depart Port de la Selva.
18:30 Arrive in Barcelona.
