Boat ride between the villages of the Cinque Terre
· Check your vouchers carefully to see what has been booked for this day. Most probably you will be taking the boat from La Spezia to one of the five villages and using an open return train ticket (included in your documents) to allow stop/s at any of the other villages. Timing today depends entirely on your boat reservation.
· A train timetable will be provided in your materials from the Rome office with departure times from Monterosso to La Spezia.
· In case of bad weather the boat trip may be substituted by a train ride. Consult the area office.
· In summer tell the group to bring swimwear and sunscreen.
Depart from your hotel and drive to La Spezia. The bus drops you at a parking area in front of the port. Tell the driver what time to meet you in La Spezia.
Go to the ticket booth to get tickets for the boat ride (voucher), meet the group and board your boat. Be sure everyone knows at which stop you will be disembarking and that they are ready to re-embark ten minutes before the boat arrives for the next stage of the trip. Depending on the timing, Monterosso (the furthest village) is a great swimming and lunch stop, then continue your exploration of the “Terre” using your train tickets. Vernazza is the most picturesque village. Riomaggiore is lovely as well.
Return by train to La Spezia. Meet your bus at the station and drive back to your hotel.
