Horseback Riding in the Camargue
Like a traditional gardian, or cowboy, spend a morning exploring the picturesque marshy delta region at the mouth of the River Rhône on horseback. The strong, sturdy and characteristically white-grey Camargue is an ancient breed of horse thought to have lived in these marshes for centuries and is used by the gardians to herd the native black Camargue bulls. As you ride, watch for flora and fauna characteristic of the river delta, including sea lavender, the bulls, flamingos and over 400 other species of birds.
