Why Teachers Love ACIS Global Conferences

January 29, 2025 Sarah Bichsel No Comments

Team ACIS just finished hosting Global Conferences – our trips for rewarding our teacher travel partners – across the globe for MLK Weekend. Coming back from Istanbul, Mexico City, Barcelona, Vienna, Lisbon and the Dominican Republic, we can’t help but feel warm and fuzzy. So many teachers getting together around the world and sharing their passion for travel, learning and community: There is a whole lot to love! Here are just some of the reasons ACIS Global Conferences are beloved by teachers.

New Exploration

Just like an ACIS Tour, every Global Conference is a mix of immersive sightseeing and free time. The activities are tailored to fit the location. In Istanbul, for example, attendees cruised the Bosphorus Strait and cooked traditional Turkish food with a Michelin starred chef, while in Lisbon, there was a whole afternoon of guided sightseeing followed by a day trip to the palace in Sintra. These are learning opportunities that you won’t find anywhere else accompanied by the best Tour Managers in the industry.

And even though we set up an itinerary, some of the best things happen on the fly. On the training weekend in the Dominican Republic, for example, one of the highlights was learning how to make cocoa butter soap from scratch. We didn’t initially have it on the agenda but decided to add it as a surprise and the group leaders’ reactions made it worth the extra time!

Bonding Moments

Part of the joy of a Global Conference is meeting other educators who share a passion for travel. And you never know where the connections will take you. We’ve seen life-long friendships form, as well as educational partnerships that have had a positive career impact for teachers.

“Everyone I’ve met has had so much to share. It’s just been the best experience.”

Incredible Food

The quality of Global Conference food cannot be overlooked. We work with local suppliers to ensure meals are authentic, and you’ll be sure to have what the destination is famous for!

For true foodies, it’s worth noting that this year we even dedicated a full conference to food and wine in Vienna.

A Mental Reset

ACIS Global Conferences are designed to be more than a fun weekend away. We want them to serve as inspiration, as fuel, so that educators can return to their classrooms re-energized. Teaching requires immense dedication and sacrifice, and any support we can give you to keep going is a win.

“There’s a spring in my step and a renewed sense of purpose in what I do each day.”

ACIS Group Leader Beth Marshall

Whether you have returned from your 10th ACIS Global Conference or your very first, we hope it was an incredible experience. To learn more about our World Traveler Rewards program and upcoming Global Conferences, check out our rewards information at ACIS.com.
