1. Tell us about yourself. What’s your role at ACIS?

Hi! My name is Abby, and I am thrilled to be part of the ACIS team as an International Program Consultant. I first started at ACIS as a Traveler Support Specialist, and helping the passengers and their parents prepare for their trips made me want to join the International Program Team and work with teachers directly. I love collaborating with teachers and hearing about what inspires them to travel with their students.

2. Tell us about your travel history. Show us why you believe travel changes lives

When I was growing up, my family didn’t really travel, so it wasn’t something I was interested in at all. Then, during my junior year of high school, my school organized a trip to Italy. Most of my friends were going, so I decided to join in. What I thought was going to be just a fun getaway with my friends ended up being so much more. It was the start of my love for travel, and it got me to where I am today. I know travel changes lives because it changed mine!

3. What made you want to work in travel?

I wanted to work in travel because I wanted to work in a field that I have a passion for. I want to be able to help teachers and students travel so that they can have the same experience that I did.

4. What kind of impact has travel had on you personally?

I spent my 20s traveling as much as I could, studying abroad in Dublin, teaching English in Thailand and backpacking along the East Coast of Australia and through Southeast Asia – It was amazing! Throughout this time, I met countless amazing people, explored new foods, immersed myself in unique customs, and uncovered fascinating History that I never learned in school. Travel has truly shaped me into the person that I am today!

5. What is your favorite travel destination?

This is such a difficult question because every destination is so incredibly different in its own way. But I find myself always returning to Ireland. I am heading to Ireland for the fourth time this summer, and I couldn’t be more excited!
