Orvieto – visit
The coach will stop on Piazza Della Pace. There are bathrooms there. While the group is using bathrooms, you can go to the train station of Orvieto Scalo to purchase the funicular tickets. Then, you go back to pick up the group and take them to the funicular. The journey on the funicular takes about 5 minutes.
Once at the top, in Piazza Cahen, you exit the funicular and wait for the shuttle bus. These are small buses, so make sure the group is all together and ready to get on. The shuttle takes you to the Duomo. Walking instead of taking the shuttle isn’t recommended as the road is narrow and busy.

Once by the Duomo, you can point them in the direction of Via Del Duomo, with small artisanal and local shops, and Corso Cavour. More info on Orvieto here https://www.orvietoviva.com/
After about an hour, you can start heading back and take the shuttle from the Duomo down to P. Cahen, and from there the funicular back to Orvieto Scalo.
FUNICULAR + SHUTTLE COST: 2.60 EUR round trip per person
The funicular has a capacity of 75 people max.
Montalcino – visit
The centre of Montalcino is closed to buses. Walk the group through the village from the (signposted) parking, passing the Palazzo Comunale and the church of S. Agostino. At the far end of the village you reach the Rocca, from where you have a great view over the vineyards.
A detour of 8km South of Montalcino to visit the Benedictine Abbey of S. Antimo is very well worth it. Add an extra hour for this (no toilets at the Abbey).
