Wittenberg sightseeing with TM including inside visits of Castle Church and Luther’s house.
· You need cash or ACIS card for entrances.
· You don’t have to rush today. You can give them some free time in Berlin or Weimar before departure or upon arrival.
· The Reformation Altarpiece by Cranach in the Wittenberg Parish Church is well worth a visit (closed over lunchtime).
· A slightly quicker – but less interesting – route to and from Berlin takes you along the A115, A10, A9 and B187 into Wittenberg.
Wittenberg – lunch stop and visit of Castle Church and Luther’s
House.
There are two options for drop off: there is a coach park just outside the old town at Schlossplatz (which has the advantage of pay WCs), or there is a coach drop off point on Mittelstrasse (approach from Wihelm-Weber-Str.) very close to the Luther House.
Arrange a rendezvous time with your driver. If beginning at the Schlossplatz, walk them towards the Market Square. Start your walking tour with your visit to the Castle Church and walk them through the town to Luther’s house. It is around 1km between the two. If it is raining, arrange for your driver to transfer you. Give free time for lunch after the visit (perhaps before if coming
from Weimar) and arrange to meet them again in the Market Square. Walk the group back to the coach.
If alighting at the Luther House, simply follow the procedure in reverse.
