Split: City Sightseeing
The name and phone number of your guide will be on the Effetto voucher. Confirm the meeting time/place as well as the length of the tour (approx. 2 hours). There is only one place where the bus may drop off and collect in Split: on the boardwalk by the harbour. It can be very busy, but it is only a 5-minute walk to the old town and the palace. Remind your group to alight quickly, as the bus will almost certainly not be in exactly the same place to pick them up later.
To Do / Know
- Participants should carry a bottle of water and wear comfortable shoes, as the entire tour is on foot.
- It’s very easy to get lost in the maze of streets. Set a designated meeting point in case anyone gets separated (e.g. the picture sign of Diocletian’s Palace by the harbour, near the bus drop-off).
- Public toilets are located in the cluster of restaurants/shops/Air Terminal Bus stop along the boardwalk, as well as inside Diocletian’s Palace on the lower level.
- There are plenty of ATMs and exchange bureaux around the periphery of the old town.
- Ensure everyone knows the meeting place and return time after free time (often the afternoon). Be strict about punctuality because of bus parking issues. Coordinate with the driver for a rendezvous time if needed.
