New Lesson Plan on Global Sustainability
Global Sustainability: From You to the UN
This new sustainability lesson plan is for English and Social Studies teachers who want to inform their students about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they are being used as a framework to confront pressing global issues.
Using sources such as teenage activist Greta Thunberg’s speech to the UN and the UN’s “Lazy Person’s Guide to Saving the World,” students will learn to construct informed opinions on why sustainability matters and how we can accomplish it.
By the end of the week, pairs of students will take ownership of one SDG and create a presentation to showcase to the rest of the class.
