Dominican Tournament

July 29 - August 5, 2024

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Monday July 29: Santo Domingo

Depart the USA and arrive in the Dominican Republic where you will meet your tour manager who will be with you for the duration of your trip. Head to your hotel for check-in then enjoy an orientation tour before dinner. (D)

Day 2, Tuesday July 30: Santo Domingo

This morning begin to explore Santo Domingo and take a Chu-Chu colonial historical train tour through the Colonial Zone, a UNESCO World Cultural Site and the historic central area of Santo Domingo. See the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor, the first cathedral of the Americas, the Ozama Fortress overlooking the river, the Franciscan Monastery ruins and other historic sites. Please note: International gateways, dates of games, excursions and overnight cities are subject to change. (B,D)

Day 3, Wednesday July 31: Santo Domingo

Today begins the Dominican Games. This is a 2-day, multi-sport event for high school aged athletes Competition begins today with games 1, 2 and 3. (B,D)

Day 4, Thursday August 1: Santo Domingo

Today is the final half of the tournament starting with game 4 in the morning and later in the afternoon end with game 5 and 6. In the early evening a closing ceremony will take place with all sports will coming together. (B,D)

Day 5, Friday August 2: Sosua

This morning after breakfast travel up to the north coast of Dominican Republic, where you will be staying for the remaining of the trip. In the late afternoon you will have time check-in your resort hotel and rest before dinner. (B,D)

Day 6, Saturday August 3: Sosua

This morning enjoy a fantastic snorkeling excursion in Sosua Bay followed by lunch at the resort. In the afternoon you will engage in a service learning project with Cabarete Sostenible, a local non-profit. Cabarete Sostenible was created at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in response to a lack of food security for many of Cabarete’s residents. This program grows and distributes food on community plots while educating locals on how to provide for themselves. In the evening enjoy your time relaxing at the resort and enjoy dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 7, Sunday August 4: Sosua

Travel to Imbert for some adrenaline pumping 'cascading' down the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua! Enjoy lunch together, then head over to enjoy a fantastic ziplining excursion. In the evening take your time to rest and enjoy your last dinner together at the resort. (B,L,D)

Day 8, Monday August 5: Departure

Depart for the USA. (B)
