Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Sunday June 16: Overnight Flight
Depart from the USA.
Day 2, Monday June 17: Buenos Aires
Welcome to Buenos Aires! After free time to unpack, sightseeing tour introduces you to this European-influenced city known as the Paris of South America. A local guide will show you the Plaza de Mayo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, El Ateneo, Congress Hall and the fashionable Recoleta area. As you explore the sites, you will engage in a teacher lead scavenger hunt. (D)
Day 3, Tuesday June 18: Provincia de Buenos Aires
Today you will travel to Los Cardales for a tour of the Estancia Santa Susana. Covering 3,000 acres, this gaucho ranch is dedicated to agriculture. After a traditional criollas meal, you will enjoy a folklore show, a visit to the museum and the chance to take a horseback ride through this impressive landscape. (B)
Day 4, Wednesday June 19: Provincia de Buenos Aires
Spend the day at BEDE’S GRAMMAR SCHOOL and engage with local students. (B)
Day 5, Thursday June 20: Buenos Aires
Enjoy a walking tour of Buenos Aires' Palermo neighborhood this morning. Contributing to the city's reputation as the Paris of South America, this is one of the largest and most pleasant barrios, with nearly 350 acres of cultivated green spaces designed by French landscape architect Charles Thays in 1874.Engage in a teacher lead scavenger hunt throughout the area as a group. (B)
Day 6, Friday June 21: Buenos Aires
Today you will learn the basics of Argentine cuisine and make some delicious empanadas. Later in the afternoon watch a horse race at the Hipodromo de Palermo, a popular pastime in Argentina. (B)
Day 7, Saturday June 22: Buenos Aires
This morning visit Museo de la Memoria dedicated to prisoners of military dictatorship. Later in the afternoon, you will have a guided tour of Caminito located in the barrio La Boca, then birth place of Tango! Then make your way early evening to visit to La Bombonera, Alberto José Armando Stadium. (B)
Day 8, Sunday June 23: Buenos Aires
This morning, explore San Telmo and La Feria de cosas viejas market, where you can buy souvenirs to take back home. Then make way to Puerto Madero where you can take memorable pictures while on, el Puente de la mujer. In the early evening learn about an important part of the Argentinean culture with tango lessons
, followed by a special dinner and tango show at El Viejo Almacen. (B,D)
Day 9, Monday June 24: Overnight Flight
Today you will visit Teatro Colón, world famous opera house. In the afternoon, browse the city's stores and open-air markets for excellent deals in leather, suede, wool knits, jewelry and antiques. Head to airport for overnight flight. (B)
Day 10, Tuesday June 25: United States
Arrive in the USA. (B)
