The 20th century was marked by a large degree of immigration into England, and as a result you can find the very best ethnic restaurants throughout London, including Indian, modern Asian, traditional British, Italian, South American and more. This special London dinner voucher allows you to choose from one of the city's myriad culinary influences.
Rise early to witness a fine example of British pageantry—the Opening Ceremony at the Tower of London. Still listed as an official Royal residence, the Queen's Guard is responsible for guard duties at the Tower and this traditional Opening Ceremony includes, with requisite pomp and circumstance, a march by the military escort and Yeoman Sergeant to open its gates for the day. Once admitted, explore the glittering Crown Jewels, learn the legend behind the Ravens, see Henry VIII's suit of armour, and imagine beheadings on the Tower Green.

Welcome to London! Meet your ACIS Tour Manager, relax, unpack and begin to explore the city's unique neighborhoods. Perhaps check out the street markets along Portobello Road in Notting Hill; explore the paths of Hyde Park or the mansions of nearby Belgravia; visit museums in South Kensington; or stroll along the artsy South Bank.
This morning, learn about London's majestic past and fast-paced present on your guided sightseeing tour. Take in sites like Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament—along the way, our guide will point out more modern landmarks like the Gherkin, the Shard, and the Cheese Grater—all new buildings changing the London skyline. Another highlight of the day is a tour inside St. Paul’s Cathedral. Sir Christopher Wren's architectural masterpiece is an enduring symbol of London, the seat of the Church of England and famed for its dome and Whispering Gallery. If you have time, your ticket includes access to climb to the top of the dome. Tonight enjoy a theater performance in London's famous West End.
Your tour manager will have you in the best place to catch the delightful pageantry of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. After you'll have time to explore more of London at your own pace. Stroll along under the London Eye or drop by the National Gallery for eye-opening art. Or you may choose to add our optional full-day excursion to Oxford and the Harry Potter Studio Tour. Tonight you'll get a chance to choose your cuisine and dine like the locals with restaurant vouchers and our insider tips on the neighborhood's best places to go. Then this evening's activity will have you soaring with your timed reservation to the London Eye. On your 30 minute “flight” to a height of 443 feet, you'll be amazed at how the London landscape unfolds below you and the engineering marvel of the Eye itself.
One highlight of the Tower of London is witnessing the
opening ceremony, and we get there early before the crowds arrive to catch it with our famously boisterous Beefeater guide. Since its construction, the castle has been used as a treasury, palace and prison—today it houses 1,000 years of Royal history and the Crown Jewels. After, we head to the Globe Theatre for a guided tour of this historic recreation of the original theater. It’s been a busy morning so far, so we head to London's Bankside neighborhood for a fish and chips lunch. After lunch you may wish to explore the art of the nearby Tate Modern's excellent collection. Tonight, venture out into the evening on a special Jack the Ripper tour.
The day is yours to check off more of London’s myriad sights from your bucket list, perhaps visiting Kensington's Victoria and Albert Museum or Science Museum. Or you may decide to go on an optional full-day excursion to Stonehenge and Bath. The trip includes the mysterious, prehistoric monuments of Stonehenge and a sightseeing tour of Bath highlights: the Royal Crescent, Circus, Pulteney Bridge and entrance to the Roman Baths. Tonight celebrate the end of a wonderful journey with a final evening in London.
Depart for the USA.
