Bienvenue à Paris! Meet your ACIS Tour Manager and begin exploring this graceful city's charming cafés and vibrant neighborhoods, all dressed up in festive lights for the holiday season.
A morning sightseeing tour with an expert local guide shows you the city's most impressive monuments, from the magnificent Arc de Triomphe at the top of the Champs-Élysées, to Napoleon's final resting place at Les Invalides, to the Gothic wonder of Notre Dame. Then enjoy an excursion by bus to the historic Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, famed for its stunning holiday displays and decorations.
This morning breeze by the crowds with your timed entrance to the Louvre and discover the many famous masterpieces that call it home. Insightful commentary from your local guide highlights the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, Venus de Milo and more as you wander through the galleries. From its beginnings as a royal fortress to its current status as the world's most visited art museum, the Louvre has long been at the center of Parisian culture and home to a collection of 35,000 works of art from around the world. Then enjoy the magic of ice skating
on the massive indoor rink beneath the Grand Palais's stunning glass ceiling. The rest of the day is yours to perhaps admire the window displays of Galeries Lafayette and Le Printemps, or take an evening stroll along the Champs-Élysées for the season's most over-the-top twinkling display of lights.
This morning, travel to Versailles to visit the intricate gardens and stunning palace of the Sun King, Louis the XIV. Your visit includes the extravagant Hall of Mirrors, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed, and the sprawling landscaped gardens and grounds. Return to Paris and celebrate New Year's Eve with a special dinner tonight.
Feel the bustling energy of artists and hipsters as you enjoy a walking tour of Montmartre. See the white-domed Sacré Cœur and breathe in stunning views of the city from this cultural and artistic haven, once the haunt of luminaries like Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Claude Monet. In the afternoon enjoy a visit to L'Atelier des Lumières, an innovative, modern take on an art museum that will dazzle your senses with an all-digital multimedia exhibition using video projection and special surround-sound effects to fully immerse you within spectacular works of art. The rest of the day is yours to perhaps pick up final souvenirs or treats from a holiday market like the one in Saint-Germain-des-Prés as it winds down for the season.
