Arrive in the Emerald Isle. Meet your ACIS Tour Manager and begin exploring on your own.
Begin the day with guided sightseeing that takes you past some of Dublin’s finest attractions, including the statue-filled O'Connell Street, and inside majestic St. Patrick's Cathedral, built in the 13th century. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the Temple Bar section of Dublin. Situated near the Liffey and the Ha'penny Bridge, Temple Bar boasts cafés, galleries and trendy shops. Or visit the quirky National Leprechaun Museum, which pays homage to Irish folklore and mythology.
Cross the Irish Sea by ferry and arrive at Holyhead, once the island home of the Druids. After a short drive through North Wales, stop to explore brooding Conwy Castle, a massive medieval fortification built by King Edward I in the late 1200s. Then travel on to Chester, where a walking tour of the city takes you past highlights such as the Roman amphitheater, medieval Rows and 1,000-year-old cathedral.
Set off this morning for the charming town of Stratford-upon-Avon to pay homage to the Bard. Visit Shakespeare's Birthplace and his burial site at Holy Trinity Church. Then travel on to London, the theater capital of the world.
This morning's panoramic sightseeing tour, led by a local guide, shows you Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Continue with a guided visit of the British Museum, home to an astounding 150 million items. You'll discover objects from around the world including the Rosetta Stone and sculptural friezes from the Parthenon. This afternoon, you may wish to visit the Tower of London.
Board the 180-mph Eurostar, which whisks you to Paris in three hours. An afternoon sightseeing tour shows you Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde. Later, why not stop at a pâtisserie and pick up some of the pastries for which France is so famous?
Start the day with a local expert teaching you how to play the traditional pastime of pétanque
, an entertaining game of skill played with hollow metal balls. Later, breeze by the crowds with your timed entrance to the Louvre and discover the many famous masterpieces that call it home. Insightful commentary from your local guide highlights the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, Venus de Milo and more as you wander through the galleries. From its beginnings as a royal fortress to its current status as the world's most visited art museum, the Louvre has long been at the center of Parisian culture and home to a collection of 35,000 works of art from around the world.
