Through projects such as feeding the animals or collecting data, you'll learn about Costa Rica's diverse and threatened animal population and help to rehabilitate the sick and injured creatures that are relying on the sanctuary for survival.
Bring your inner nature lover to Tortuguero National Park, a unique protected ecosystem where the freshwater runoff of the rainforest meets seawater along the Caribbean coast. The islands, wetlands, canals, lagoons and beaches are best explored by boat and present exceptional examples of biodiversity. Watch for spider monkeys hanging down over the river, caimans, many species of birds, river otters and the namesake turtles as you cruise through this National Park.
Gain a bird's-eye perspective on the pristine vegetation of the rainforest as you explore its canopy via zip-lines, swings, and treetop platforms. The people of Costa Rica have strong traditions in the arts and culture. Clap along and get caught up in the spirit of the Ticos as native musicians and dancers in colorful traditional dress perform traditional folkloric dances and songs, mostly from the colonial late 1800s. Rise early this morning and drive through the dormant volcanoes and spectacular cloud forest of the Braulio Carrillo National Park. Continue on a riverboat journey, which will take you to your lodge in Tortuguero. Enjoy spotting the wildlife as you travel, looking out for the West Indian manatee, caimans, or spider monkeys hanging down over the river! All meals are included while in Tortuguero.

sightseeing adventure within Tortuguero National Park includes boat tours and hiking. A series of canals, mangroves, swamps and lagoons create perfect opportunities to study the vegetation and the multitude of wildlife.
