Itinerary

This itinerary is the starting point for your tour, but it’s not set in stone. If there are days you would like to change, or specific places you’d like to go, we can work with you to create a personalized program that fits the needs of you and your students.

Day 1: Overnight Flight

Depart from the USA.

Day 2: Barcelona

Welcome to Spain's most cosmopolitan city! Meet your ACIS Tour Manager and begin to explore.

Day 3: Barcelona

Begin your day with a panoramic sightseeing tour. Your local guide will point out the major highlights of Barcelona, from the Gothic Quarter to the unique Gaudí designs along the Passeig de Gràcia, and will make a stop outside his masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia. Antoni Gaudí, one of Catalonia's most famous sons, was a Modernist architect whose distinctive style is revered to this day. Later, stroll through his whimsical Parc Güell for a sweeping view over the city, and also enjoy a visit inside one of the city's unique Gaudí-designed houses, either Casa Batlló or La Pedrera. Then you'll learn about one of Spain's most enduring traditions—flamenco dancing. An expert teaches you the moves to this traditional and passionate Spanish art form during your flamenco lesson.

Day 4: Barcelona

Today is free to stroll the famous La Rambla, visit the Picasso Museum and taste traditional foods at the bustling and colorful La Boqueria market. Or, you may choose a full-day excursion to the Costa Brava to visit the spectacular Salvador Dalí Museum at Figueres. There, you will see incredible works by the great Surrealist.

Day 5: Bilbao

A full day drive takes you from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic and from Cataluña to the Basque country. You will stop in the city of Zaragoza, famous for its cathedral, before continuing on to Bilbao.

Day 6: Biarritz

This morning visit one of the most innovative art museums in Europe. The Guggenheim Museum is not only outstanding in its collection, but also in its architecture. Continue to San Sebastián then cross the border to Biarritz, France, famed for its wide beach and gentle climate.

Day 7: Paris

After a free morning in Biarritz, depart by high-speed TGV to Paris, the "City of Light". Perhaps start to explore the Champs Elysées, or explore the charming neighborhood of Montmartre.

Day 8: Paris

Your day begins with a guided sightseeing tour that takes you past some of the most famous attractions in Paris. Your expert local guide will show you the magnificent Arc de Triomphe at the top of the Champs-Élysées, Napoleon's final resting place at Les Invalides and the Gothic wonder of Notre Dame. This afternoon, breeze by the crowds with your timed entrance to the Louvre and discover the many famous masterpieces that call it home. Insightful commentary from your local guide highlights the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, Venus de Milo and more as you wander through the galleries. From its beginnings as a royal fortress to its current status as the world's most visited art museum, the Louvre has long been at the center of Parisian culture and home to a collection of 35,000 works of art from around the world. Then, ascend to the top of the iconic Eiffel Tower for breathtaking views of Paris.

Day 9: Paris

This morning, travel to Versailles to visit the intricate gardens and stunning palaces of the Sun King, Louis the XIV. Your all-access visit includes the Hall of Mirrors, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed, Marie Antoinette's Hameau, a small rustic village that served as her retreat from the pressures and intrigue of palace life, and the Petit Trianon, a personal palace the king gave to her in 1774. After wandering exploring the exquisite and intensely manicured gardens on two feet, hop on two wheels and go beyond the gardens into the grounds with a Versailles by bike tour.

Day 10: Departure

Depart for the USA.
