Day 1: Overnight Flight

Depart from the USA.

Day 2: Lake Lucerne

Arrive in Switzerland's bustling financial city of Zurich and transfer to Lake Lucerne.

Day 3: Lake Lucerne

Begin your day with an optional trip on the world's steepest cog railway and by cable car up to the breathtaking heights of 7,000-foot Mount Pilatus. Otherwise, enjoy a free day to explore the picturesque streets and squares of Lucerne, including the magnificent Lion Monument and the Chapel Bridge. Your evening highlight is a merriment-filled traditional Swiss food and pastimes experience. Through food, stories, games, costumes and more, your hosts will have you engaging with centuries of Swiss cultural traditions.

Day 4: Innsbruck

Head for Innsbruck today, stopping first in Vaduz, Liechtenstein to tick another country off your visited list. Continue to Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol for a walking tour including entrance to the Hofkirche.

Day 5: Munich

Depart Innsbruck and drive to visit crazy King Ludwig's fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein—literally the stuff of legends (and Disney dreams). The famous castle, with its many turrets and towers was opened to the public in 1886 and clings to the top of the surrounding cliffs. Continue to the Wieskirche, a beautiful Rococo church in the Bavarian meadows, for a visit before arriving in Munich for dinner.

Day 6: Munich

Begin the day discovering the city's hidden gems during a Munich by bike tour of unique neighborhoods and sights off the beaten path. Pedal down historic old streets, peek into delightful courtyards, ride along the city's river and explore the popular 910-acre Englischer Garten, one of the world's largest urban public parks. This afternoon visit BMW World, a showcase for the BMW brand, one of the industry's most influential auto makers. In the evening, we'll visit the Olympic Park to learn more about the events and history of the 1972 Olympics.

Day 7: Munich

Travel this morning out to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, a somber but compelling reminder of Nazi atrocities during World War II. Return to Munich to explore more of the city's wonders at your own pace, and be sure to check out the Marienplatz, the historic square in the heart of the city. It's home to the famous 43-bell Glockenspiel, whose colorful mechanical figures reenact prominent moments in Munich's history throughout the day. We bid our time in Munich auf Wiedersehen with a traditional German sausage dinner tonight.

Day 8: Departure

Depart for the USA.



Optional Extensions and Extra Nights:

Enhance your German experience with a two-night extension—spend one night in Rothenburg with a visit to St. Jakob's Church and one night in Heidelberg with a walking tour of the city, including the magnificent Heidelberg Castle.
