Lausanne Olympic Museum visit

· You need cash or ACIS card for entrances to the Olympic

Museum

· You must call the Olympic Museum and reserve the appropriate visit for your group (visits can include food!). The museum will then prepare your tickets or “credit cards”, which admit you to the various areas. They will also arrange a special screening of the Olympic film of your choice and give a general introduction to the museum. You should allow two hours for the visit.

Lausanne – Geneva 67km 1hr

You should take the lakeside road to Lausanne at least one way – very pretty views.

Allow about one and a half hours for your tour and give some free time before returning to Lausanne to visit the Olympic Museum.

A good drop off and pick up point is alongside the Floral Clock.

THINGS TO DO

Geneva is a good, if expensive, place for shopping, but remember that the shops close early and are shut on Saturday afternoons/Sundays. The best area is the pedestrian street two blocks behind Bucherer, below the old town along the Rue du Marché, etc.

You might try and investigate the possibility of returning part of the way by boat. (Check yellow pages).

OLYMPIC MUSEUM

On arrival, buy your tickets and arrange a time for the film screening. You may well get a short introduction before the film and the chance for the group to go and explore the exhibitions, which include items belonging to some of the great Olympians, including Jesse Owens. Arrange a meeting time for departure at the exit.
