Amboise – lunch stop
Set down in the bus park (public toilets next to tourist office you will pass walking along the river into town) and lead the group to the square below the Château (see map). There are plenty of places for lunch. The best place to get a good photo of the Château is from halfway across the bridge.
There may be some people who would prefer to grab a sandwich and use the rest of their time to visit the Château (they pay) or Le Clos Lucé (Leonardo da Vinci’s house, 20 minutes’ walk uphill from the Château but worth a visit – they pay).
