Depart from the USA. Arrive in Cancun, meet your ACIS Tour Manager and transfer to your hotel in Chichén Itzá. Tonight you will marvel at a Sound and Light show and learn about the significance of the Equinox for the Mayan people.
This morning, explore the incredible ruins of Chichén Itzá. Learn about the Mayan's advanced calendar system, their extensive knowledge of astronomy and their deadly ball game. Enjoy an excursion to a nearby cenote for a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters. These naturally formed underground sinkholes were sacred to the ancient Maya. In the afternoon, we drive to the colonial city of Mérida. This town, built around a bustling main square, boasts one of the oldest cathedrals in the Americas. Your local guide will show you the Palacio de Gobierno, where vibrant murals portray Mexican history from Mayan times to present.
Today embark on a full-day excursion to Uxmal, where many of the building ruins are still a mystery to archaeologists. Learn about the rain god Chac, the most important of the gods in this dry area. Return to Mérida for dinner and a folklore show

This morning you will drive to the colonial town of Izamal, where the imposing Convento de San Antonio reveals the massive Spanish influence on the area. Continue to the important religious center of Valladolid before arriving at the coast. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in this charming beach side community.
Today enjoy an excursion to the eco-archaeological theme park of Xcaret. Spend the day tubing down subterranean rivers and snorkeling in the inlets, where pink flamingos and toucans abound. Then observe a re-creation of a Mayan ball game
with its religious rituals and ceremonies.
A morning excursion takes you to the spectacular cliff-side ruins of Tulum, where a stunning view of the Caribbean may explain why the Mayan people chose this as home. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore the town of Playa del Carmen.
Spend the day relaxing on the Caribbean Coast. You’ll have time to enjoy the beach or browse for souvenirs in the nearby shops before celebrating your final evening in Mexico tonight.
