Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Friday September 29: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Saturday September 30: Salzburg
Arrive in Munich and meet your tour manager. Head downtown for a brief tour of the capital of Bavaria with your tour manager, taking in the famous Frauenkirche and the main Marieplatz Square. After an independent lunch stop board your coach for the transfer to Salzburg, arriving in time to check in to your hotel and take a welcome dinner together (D)
Day 3, Sunday October 1: Salzburg
This morning after breakfast enjoy a brief guided tour of Salzburg, one of the most picturesque of all European cities - indeed, it is like all of Europe in concentrated form with a castle, cathedral, squares, gardens, spires and rivers. During the Holy Empire, it was called the northern Rome, due to the importance of the Prince Archbishops and the Baroque. You'll experience the whole musical spectrum in the city, from an optional visit to Mozart's birthplace to some of the locations used in the Sound of Music!. This afternoon come together for a special choral workshop with the Music Director of Salzburg Cathedral (pending her availability) before dinner independently tonight. (B)
Day 4, Monday October 2: Vienna
This morning depart towards Vienna, first making a stop in the picturesque lakeside town of Mondsee, where you will be able to give a short recital in the cathedral, featured in the wedding scene of 'The Sound of Music' Continue to Vienna through the picturesque Wachau valley in time for a group dinner together (B,D)
Day 5, Tuesday October 3: Vienna
Being a UNESCO heritage city, Vienna is rich in architectural wonders from the great Stephansdom and Baroque castles to the 19th century Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks.Your morning starts as your local guide takes you on a panoramic tour of Vienna, with highlights of the city including the Stephansdom, Vienna Opera and Hofburg Palace. Today you'll also have the opportunity to sing a short midday recital in the magnificent Cathedral itself. This afternoon experience that most Austrian of sweet treats as you try your hand at strudel-making! This evening is free for you to attend a concert or the opera under your own arrangements (B)
Day 6, Wednesday October 4: Vienna
Today is free for you to continue exploring the wonders of Vienna at your leisure: Optional visits could take in the stunning architecture of the buildings around the Ringstrasse, the Klimt exhibition at the Belvedere Museum, a tour of the Staatsoper opera house, or simply grab your table at one of the city's iconic coffee houses, stay as long as you like, and watch the world go by! Later assemble in time for your next concert which could be in one of the city's stunning churches such as the Peterskirche, followed by dinner together (B,D)
Day 7, Thursday October 5: Prague
This morning you will depart Vienna and journey to Prague stopping along the way in the beautiful town of Telc where you will have time for lunch on your own. Continue to Prague where you will check into your hotel in time for an inedependent dinner (B)
Day 8, Friday October 6: Prague
his morning, take a guided sightseeing tour of historic Prague on foot beginning with the Castle district including the Old Royal Palace and St. Vitus Cathedral. Continue down to the River Vltava and stroll across the magnificent Charles Bridge with its statues aligning the low walls before arriving into the Old Town to view the Astronomical Clock and St Nicholas Square. Today you will also have the opportunity to give a concert in a venue such as St Nicholas Church or the Korunni Chapel, before enjoying a cruise on the River Vltava with a buffet dinner (B,D)
Day 9, Saturday October 7: Prague
This morning take a guided tour of the beautifully restored Estates Theater, where Mozart himself conducted the premiere of his opera Don Giovanni. The rest of the day is free to explore the Old Town area at your leisure. This evening, celebrate your successful performance tour with a special farewell dinner together. (B,D)
Day 10, Sunday October 8: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
