Gilroy High School 2028 Tour

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Monday June 19: New York City

Depart this morning on your flight to New York City. On arrival, you will meet your Encore Tour Manager, board the buses and head into The Big Apple to your downtown hotel. Enjoy a group dinner together tonight, followed by a trip to the top of the Empire State Building for aerial views of the city! (D)

Day 2, Tuesday June 20: New York City

Today enjoy a guided tour of Radio City Music Hall, before enjoying some time for shopping around the Rockefeller Center and on 'Fabulous 5th' Avenue. This afternoon, participate in your first rehearsal as part of MidAmerica Productions Guest Conductor Series (final rehearsal schedule to be determined). Enjoy a group dinner together this evening. Day 3, Wednesday June 21: New York City

This morning, participate in your next rehearsal (exact timing to be determined). This afternoon, visit the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan where you will enter the tree-lined National September 11 Memorial Plaza and walk to the two pools constructed in the footprints of the towers that were destroyed on September 11, 2001. Next walk next door to One World Trade Center for a 60-second, 100-story ascent to the top of the newly completed One World Observatory for a stunning, panoramic view of the whole of Manhattan Island, the Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Enjoy dinner together tonight. (B,D)

Day 4, Thursday June 22: New York City

Transfer to Carnegie Hall for your performance at this world famous concert venue, where you will have the opportunity to perform on this most famous of stages. Enjoy dinner together this evening. (B,D)

Day 5, Friday June 23: Overnight Flight

This morning, have time to explore Central Park with your Tour Manager. Then transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to Lisbon. You'll be given a stipend to purchase lunch today and dinner will be provided on your overnight flight. (B,L,D)

Day 6, Saturday June 24: Lisbon

Welcome to Portugal! Arrive in Lisbon, meet your European Encore Tour Manager, and begin to unlock the secrets of this fascinating city, once the capital of the world's greatest maritime empire. A light breakfast will be served on board your flight. Check into your hotel and enjoy a group dinner together. (B,D)

Day 7, Sunday June 25: Lisbon

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. This morning, visit Jerónimos Monastery, one of Lisbon’s most iconic landmarks and a masterpiece of Manueline architecture. Enjoy time at your leisure to explore the city further and have lunch on your own. This afternoon, transfer to your performance venue for rehearsal followed by your first concert in Portugal. After the performance, gather for dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 8, Monday June 26: Lisbon

Following breakfast, travel along the coast with your Tour Manager to the seaside towns of Cascais and Estoril, known for their scenic views and relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy free time to explore, take in the coastline, or relax by the beach, with lunch on your own. This afternoon, return to Lisbon and transfer to your performance venue for your final rehearsal and concert of your memorable tour. After the performance, gather for dinner at a local restaurant. Day 9, Tuesday June 27: Departure

Breakfast at your hotel. Then, transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
