Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Friday March 20: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Saturday March 21: Rome
Benvenuti in Italia! Meet your tour manager in Rome, who will take you to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy an arrival briefing and welcome dinner as you settle into this amazing city.
Day 3, Sunday March 22: Rome
Today, enjoy the sights of ancient Rome on your panoramic city tour. Highlights include The Circus Maximus, The Baths of Caracalla, and the Monument of Vittorio Emanuele (Rome’s “Wedding Cake Monument’). Next, visit the famous ancient Roman Forum and the Colosseum, with entrances included. Imagine the roar of spectators as they cheered on gladiators battling one another on the ground and water! This afternoon, assemble for rehearsal and dinner before your first concert. Tonight, perform a full evening concert at a local venue.
Day 4, Monday March 23: Florence
Begin your day with an exclusive guided tour of the world-renowned Vatican Museums, where you'll explore a treasure trove of art, history, and culture. Marvel at the masterpieces housed within, including the iconic Sistine Chapel, with its breathtaking ceiling painted by Michelangelo. Conclude your Vatican visit with a tour of St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world, renowned for its awe-inspiring architecture and rich history. After a morning of cultural immersion, embark on a scenic journey to Florence, with a delightful stop in Orvieto. This charming hilltop town offers a perfect chance to stretch your legs and explore its medieval streets, impressive cathedral, and stunning panoramic views before continuing your journey to Florence.
Day 5, Tuesday March 24: Florence
Enjoy a guided city sightseeing tour of Florence this morning. Highlights include Ghiberti's Baptistry doors, the Duomo, and Santa Croce. Then visit the Accademia, home of Michelangelo's David, using a timed entrance to avoid the lines! Then, travel to Lucca, where you will rehearse for your second performance of the tour. Dinner will be before the performance, and you will head back to your hotel afterward. (B,D)
Day 6, Wednesday March 25: Florence
Start your day with free time in Florence, allowing you to explore the city's historic streets at your own pace. Wander through its art-filled museums, visit the iconic Duomo, or stroll through its charming squares. Treat yourself to an unforgettable gelato-tasting experience, where you'll savor various delicious flavors, each crafted with the finest ingredients. After indulging in this sweet delight, immerse yourself in Tuscany's vibrant traditions with a fun and lively Tuscan Folk dance. Let the rhythm and energy of the dance sweep you into the heart of local culture. (B,D)
Day 7, Thursday March 26: Cremona
Depart for Cremona, with scenic stops in Bologna or Parma, two charming cities known for their rich history, culture, and gastronomy. Stroll through its medieval streets and vibrant squares in Bologna, or visit the famous Piazza Maggiore. Alternatively, indulge in the flavors of this culinary haven in Parma, renowned for its Parmesan cheese and prosciutto. Continue your journey, arriving in Cremona in the afternoon, ready to explore this historic city, famous for its violin-making tradition.
Day 8, Friday March 27: Cremona
Start the day with a walking tour of beautiful Cremona with your tour manager to learn about this city's critical heritage of violinmaking. You will visit the Museo del Violino, which has an incredible collection of original Stradivarius violins. This afternoon, participate in an orchestra workshop to fine-tune your ensemble for this evening's final performance.
Day 9, Saturday March 28: Cremona
Today, we journey to the fashionable city of Milan. Upon arrival, enjoy a brief walking tour through the heart of Milan, where you'll marvel at the stunning Duomo, one of the world's largest and most beautiful cathedrals. Continue your exploration with a visit to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Italy's oldest shopping mall, renowned for its elegant architecture and luxury boutiques. Depending on availability, enjoy a delightful farewell dinner in Milan, where you can savor authentic Italian cuisine. Afterward, you may have the exclusive opportunity to attend a performance at the world-famous Teatro Alla Scala, one of the most prestigious opera houses in the world.
Day 10, Sunday March 29: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
