C D Hylton High School - London Theater Trip

March 27 - April 2, 2026

Itinerary

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Friday March 27: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Saturday March 28: London

You arrive in London, one of the world's liveliest capitals. Meet your Encore Tour Manager and take an orientation sightseeing tour of the city by bus with a step-on licensed guide. Your tour includes some of the most iconic sights of the city: Kensington Palace (home of the Prince of Wales), Buckingham Palace, the Museums, Parliament Square and the Houses of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey (where depending on service times it may be possible to visit the Abbey). Some of the most famous sights are better explored on foot, including Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Chinatown and 10 Downing Street, home of British Prime Ministers for centuries. Later your tour manager will distribute your Oyster public transit travelcards: and after unpacking you can begin familiarizing yourself with the city's famous 'Tube' underground rail network. Dinner will be at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 3, Sunday March 29: London

This morning after breakfast max out your Oyster travelcard on London's transport system, accompanied by your tour manager. First visit the brand new Museum of Shakespeare (open 2025), an immersive and interactive experience built on the foundations of an Elizabethan theatre dating from the 1570s! Travel back in time to 1598 for a retelling of a day in the life of the Bard: walk on the stage where Shakespeare himself presented plays, soak up the sights, sounds (and smells!) of 16th Century London, and meet some of his contemporaries and friends. Later take a walking tour of Shakespeare's London to see some of the sights that inspired his plays, before finishing at the iconic restored Globe Theatre, on the South Bank of London's Thames River. Here this afternoon you will have a workshop on the play being performed tonight, then after an early dinner take your ringside seats to experience theater as Shakespeare did: up close and personal! (B,D)

Day 4, Monday March 30: London

After breakfast board your coach for a full day excursion to Stratford-upon-Avon, home of the most famous playwright in the English Language. Take a guided walking and bus tour of this compact medieval town, including visits to Shakespeare's Birthplace, the New Place (Shakespeare's home for nearly 20 years) and his wife Anne Hathaway's cottage. Later take an in-depth behind-the-scenes tour of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, where many new productions of the Bard's work receive their premiere before touring the world. Return to London in time for dinner. (B,D)

Day 5, Tuesday March 31: London

This morning after breakfast walk from your hotel to the nearby modern Royal National Theatre on London's South Bank, where you will take a guided behind-the-scenes tour of this renowned building, including on-site set building, painting and scenery workshops. This afternoon attend a musical theater workshop in London's glitzy West End (possible shows could include Mrs Doubtfire, The Devil Wears Prada, Sister Act, Tina The Musical). Take dinner in a local restaurant before experiencing the show you've workshopped, live! (B,D)

Day 6, Wednesday April 1: London

Today's excursion by bus takes you north to the Harry Potter Studios at Leavesden. See actual props and sets used in the famous series of movies: visit Platform 9 3/4, the Hogwarts Dining Room, Diagon Alley and encounter animatronic beasts and many other special effects! Return to London for your farewell dinner. (B,D)

Day 7, Thursday April 2: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
