St. Teresa's Southern Italy Tour

The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Wednesday May 27: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Thursday May 28: Taormina

Arrive at Catania airport, where you will meet your Tour Managers and drive to Taormina. Check into the hotel and have time to relax. Enjoy a special welcome dinner together tonight with folk entertainment provided! (D)

Day 3, Friday May 29: Taormina

After breakfast, provided each day of the tour, enjoy a guided tour of Taormina. After,depart for an excursion up to Mt. Etna. You will enjoy a cable car ride to 8500 ft above sea level for a view of the volcano. Then continue to Acireale. This afternoon, attend a traditional Sicilian Puppets Show. Rehearse and then enjoy dinner together and after prepare for tonight's debut concert performance.

Day 4, Saturday May 30: Overnight Ferry

After breakfast, you will have a walking tour of Taormina including a visit to the Greek Theater. Later, drive to Palermo and have time to shop and explore with your tour manager before you depart for your overnight ferry to Naples. (B)

Day 5, Sunday May 31: Sorrento

Wake up in Naples. Today, you may want to participate in a local Mass. Then, have the afternoon to shop at your leisure. Later, check into your hotel, relax, rest, and have dinner together.

Day 6, Monday June 1: Sorrento

This morning enjoy a ride on the high-speed hydrofoil to jaw-dropping Capri. You'll see firsthand why it's called the Island of Dreams as you take a funicular, or inclined railway, past subtropical gardens and up to the town's charming main square with time for shopping in the artisan stores and sightseeing along its narrow lanes. This evening, prepare for your rehearsal and second concert.

Day 7, Tuesday June 2: Rome

This morning, visit the excavated city of Pompeii with a local guide. Nearby, Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD and buried the city in ash. What we have today is a perfect picture of life as it was nearly 2,000 years ago. Later, travel to Rome, where you will check into your hotel.

Day 8, Wednesday June 3: Rome

After collecting a boxed breakfast, transfer to St. Peter's Square for the Papal Audience for Wednesday. Then, transfer to the Colosseum, where you will learn the importance of this incredible structure. This afternoon, rehearse for your final concert, which will take place at a local venue,

Day 9, Thursday June 4: Rome

After breakfast, visit the Vatican museums with a local guide, including a visit to St. Peter's Basilica. Afterward, walk inside St. Peter's Basilica, where you will celebrate and sing Mass at St. Peter's. Later, have some free time to shop before joining the Shadow Tour for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 10, Friday June 5: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
