Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Sunday June 15: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Monday June 16: Prague
Arrive in Prague and meet your Encore Tour Manager at the airport. Board your deluxe motorcoach for your transfer to the hotel. Check-in, unpack and relax. In the evening, depart on a Vltava River Cruise for a welcome dinner. (D)
Day 3, Tuesday June 17: Prague
Wake up in the capital city of Prague, the perfectly preserved jewel of the Czech Republic. This morning renew your focus on the musical aspects of the tour with a substantial rehearsal. In the afternoon, take a sightseeing tour of Prague, where you will see Prague Castle and Old Town, as well as the Mala Strana district made famous in the movie Amadeus. Enjoy dinner together tonight (B,D)
Day 4, Wednesday June 18: Prague
This morning, take a guided tour of the Jewish Cemetery and Museum to learn about this important aspect of Prague's history. Then, enjoy a tour of the beautiful and historic Estates Theater, where Mozart debuted his masterpiece, “Don Giovanni.” This afternoon, prepare for your first performance of the tour, which will take place this evening at a local vanue such as St Simon and Juda church, now a permanent orchestral hall. Enjoy dinner together after your performance. (B,D)
Day 5, Thursday June 19: Brno
Check out of your hotel and depart for Moravia, paying a visit to the spectacular Punkva Caves, formed from the Karst rock that gives this Moravian Karst Region its name. Take a guided trip underground to the huge underground caverns, part of a 22 mile complex of tunnels, before emerging by motorised tour boat into the sunshine again. Tonigh you'll stay in the Czech Republic's second city Brno. Brno is known for its architecture, both medieval and modern, and for being the home city of Leos Janacek. (B,D)
Day 6, Friday June 20: Vienna
After breakfast check out of your hotel and transfer to Vienna, the historical center of the musical world and a must-visit for any musician! Enjoy a traditional Viennese 'Heuriger' dinner tonight to welcome you to Vienna! (B,D)
Day 7, Saturday June 21: Vienna
Being a UNESCO heritage city, Vienna is rich in architectural wonders from the great Stephansdom and Baroque castles to the 19th century Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks. Your morning panoramic guided tour will include the highlights of the city including the Stephansdom, and the gorgeous buildings along the Ringstrasse. After some free time for lunch on your own, reassemble for rehearsal. Tonight, you will give your last concert performance at a local venue in Vienna such as the MuTh concert hall, home to the Vienna Boys Choir. Enjoy dinner together. (B,D)
Day 8, Sunday June 22: Vienna
After breakfast at your hotel journey outside Vienna to nearby Eisenstadt for a tour of the Esterhazy Palace where Haydn was court composer. From it's elegant residental rooms to the famous Haydnsaal where Haydn conducted many concerts, this tour is sure to be a highlight. Next, visit the Haydn Mausoleum where the famous composer was laid to rest. Return to Vienna for a farewell Heuriger folk evening and dinner. (B,D)
Day 9, Monday June 23: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
