Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Tuesday June 24: San Jose
Depart the USA today for an exciting musical adventure in the tropics. Arrive in the capital of Costa Rica, meet your dedicated Encore Tour Manager and begin to explore this vibrant and bustling city full of Spanish colonial architecture and the friendliest people you may ever meet. (B,D)
Day 2, Wednesday June 25: San Jose
Wake up in the Central Valley and travel north up the mountains to visit the oldest carbon-neutral coffee farm. Then, journey to Sarchí - the hub of Costa Rica's arts and crafts trade, renowned for its ox-carts and leather rocking chairs. In the afternoon, return to the city for rehearsal and your first concert at one of the most beautiful churches in the Central Valley (B,D)
Day 3, Thursday June 26: San Carlos
As you journey to San Carlos, seize the chance to join a Chocolate Tour, where you can indulge in chocolate straight from the source amidst the tropical forest where cocoa beans thrive. Later in the afternoon, prepare for your second concert, set to take place at the historic La Fortuna Church. (B,D)
Day 4, Friday June 27: San Carlos
Make the most of your time in the agricultural hub of the north by exploring an all-organic farm, where you can discover sustainable living practices and enjoy a delicious lunch. Later in the day, venture to the renowned hot springs fed by the Arenal Volcano for a truly unforgettable experience. (B,D)
Day 5, Saturday June 28: Monteverde
Originally settled in the 1950s by a group of Quakers from Alabama, Monteverde is a leader in sustainable communities in Costa Rica. After lunch, take a hike over the beautiful hanging bridges in the Cloud Forest. (B,D)
Day 6, Sunday June 29: Monteverde
Wake up early for an adrenaline adventure where the zip-line was invented in the Cloud Forest. In the afternoon, prepare for your rehearsal and concert where this special, artistic enthusiast community awaits your arrival. (B,D)
Day 7, Monday June 30: Guanacaste Coast
Enjoy a free day at the beach. Development projects are limited along the coastline to preserve the ecosystem, making this a wonderful place to enjoy Costa Rica's sun and surf. This afternoon, return to San Jose for dinner and a folklore show! (B,D)
Day 8, Tuesday July 1: Guanacaste Coast
Enjoy a free morning at the beach. Later, rehearse and perform at an exemplary community school. You will learn about their sustainable practices and their responsible place in a divided community. Share with local Costa Rican students and those from all over the world. The proceeds from ticket sales will be reinvested in educational sponsorship opportunities for the community. (B,D)
Day 9, Wednesday July 2: San Jose
Enjoy a free day at the beach. Development projects are limited along the coastline to preserve the ecosystem, making this a wonderful place to enjoy Costa Rica's sun and surf. This afternoon, return to San Jose for dinner and a folklore show! (B,D)
Day 10, Thursday July 3: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
