Itinerary
The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.
Day 1, Saturday March 6: Overnight Flight
Departure from the United States.
Day 2, Sunday March 7: Prague
Arrive in Prague and meet your Encore Tour Manager at the airport. Transfer by bus to your conveniently located hotel in time for a welcome dinner tonight (D)
Day 3, Monday March 8: Prague
After breakfast begin your exploration of the Golden City using your public transit passes, provided for each day you are here, to reach the city center. The best way to see the heart of the city is in face on foot, passing through the Castle district, the Lesser Town, on to Charles Bridge, through the Old Town and to the medieval Astronomical Clock. Later this afternoon, perform your first concert in the heart of the city at a church such as St Nicholas on the Old Town Square. (B)
Day 4, Tuesday March 9: Prague
This morning after breakfast transfer to one of Prague's main rail stations, and make the journey by train to the city of Kutna Hora. Once one of the country's wealthiest cities, Kutna Hora made its fortune in silver mines, and here you'll take a tour of part of the mines in traditional miner's garb. Then ascend to the spectacular St Barbora Cathedral which towers over the city, for a short recital in this wonderful buidling. If you dare, pay a visit to the cathedral's macabre ossuary, filled with sculptures and furnishings crafted from human bone! Return to Prague by train (B)
Day 5, Wednesday March 10: Prague
Today, board your express bus for your day visiting the charming town of Cesky Krumlov. Here a local guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of all the major sights including the stunning old town, entrance to the castle and the River Vltava bridges. Return to Prague in time for an indepdenent dinner (B)
Day 6, Thursday March 11: Prague
This morning after breakfast, explore the musical side of the city, starting with a visit the Antonin Dvorak museum housed in the composer's former villa home. Later experience the superbly restored Estates Theatre where the world premiere of Don Giovanni was held. Later board a train for the short journey out of the city to a town such as Nymburk, where you'll perform your next concert in a local church (B)
Day 7, Friday March 12: Prague
This morning is free to continue exploring the city: you could visit one of the many galleries, the Czech Museum of Music, or simply take in the views from Petrin Hill or the Chotkov Gardens over the city. This afternoon come together with a local choir to socialise, rehearse, and perform your final concert in a city venue such as the Korunni Chapel or St Martin in the Wall Church, before bidding farewell to illuminated Prague on a River Vltava cruise with buffet supper (B,D)
Day 8, Saturday March 13: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
