The itinerary is the starting point to your tour, but it’s not set in stone. Your group leader may make changes leading up to departure.

Day 1, Thursday July 29: Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States.

Day 2, Friday July 30: Madrid

Arrive in Madrid, and meet your tour manager. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner together (D)

Day 3, Saturday July 31: Madrid

This morning after breakfast visit a traditional Madrid luthier, where you'll explore guitar-making techniques honed over hundreds of years. This afternoon take part in a flamenco guitar workshop with a local clinican. Later tonight, subject to show schedules, attend a spectacular flamenco show with dinner (B,D)

Day 4, Sunday August 1: Segovia

After breakfast check out and head towards the city of Segovia, host city to the MUSEG Festival. MUSEG, formally known as the Segovia Music Festival, is one of the oldest and most prestigious performing arts events in Spain. Founded in 1974 to commemorate the 2000th anniversary of the iconic Roman Aqueduct, it transforms the entire World Heritage city of Segovia into a sprawling open-air stage every summer. Subject to acceptance, you may be able to perform as part of this festival: the performances take place directly inside medieval castles, centuries-old monasteries, and Romanesque churches in Segovia and nearby cities. Day 5, Monday August 2: Oviedo

This morning leave Segovia and head towards the Northern Spanish coast, to spend the day with your own St Augustines sister city contacts in Aviles. Dinner is provided if not hosted (B,D)

Day 6, Tuesday August 3: Carrion de los Condes

After bidding farewell to your hosts, travel inland once more to Carrion de los Condes, to begin your independent residency in the town under your own arrangements. Dinner and overnight accommodation is provided by Encore Tours; your tour manager will leave you today and rejoin you at the end of your stay in Carrion (B,D)

Day 7, Wednesday August 4: Carrion de los Condes

Under your own arrangements (a bus will be at your disposal today subject to driving hours regulations). Dinner and overnight accommodation is provided by Encore Tours (B,D)

Day 8, Thursday August 5: Carrion de los Condes

Under your own arrangements (a bus will be at your disposal today subject to driving hours regulations). Dinner and overnight accommodation is provided by Encore Tours (B,D)

Day 9, Friday August 6: Madrid

After breakfast, rejoin your coach and tour manager for the journey back to Madrid. On arrival visit the Royal Palace with a guided visit, followed by free time to further explore the city, before coming together for a farewell dinner tonight (B,D)

Day 10, Saturday August 7: Departure

Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States (B)
